Ingredients
  

Fondue Ingredients
  • 1 clove garlic halved
  • 1 cup dry white grape juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 8 ounces Gruyere cheese shredded
  • 8 ounces Emmentaler cheese shredded
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons Kirsch (cherry apple juice)
  • Pinch nutmeg
  • Pinch white pepper
Dipping Ingredients
  • Crusty bread cubed
  • Cooked vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots)
  • Apple slices

Method
 

  1. Rub fondue pot with garlic.
  2. Add grape juice and lemon juice, simmer.
  3. Toss cheese with cornstarch.
  4. Add cheese to juice, stir until melted.
  5. Stir in Kirsch, nutmeg, and pepper.
  6. Transfer to burner to keep warm.
  7. Serve with bread, vegetables, and apples.

Notes

Use a good quality Gruyere and Emmentaler for the best flavor and melting consistency.
