Filling
  • 2 cans apple pie filling
Cake
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
Nuts (optional)
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans optional
Ice Cream (optional)
  • Vanilla ice cream for serving, optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spread apple pie filling in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle cinnamon and dry cake mix over filling.
  4. Pour melted butter evenly over the top.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra crunch, add more nuts on top before baking.
