Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
Add-ins
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment.
  2. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Cream butter and sugars until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well.
  3. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts.
  4. Drop dough onto baking sheets, about 2 inches apart. Bake 9-11 minutes until edges are golden.
  5. Cool cookies on sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For softer cookies, slightly underbake and let cool on the baking sheet.
