Baked Brie Wrapped in Puff Pastry

  • 8 oz brie cheese wheel
  • 1 puff pastry sheet thawed
  • 5 slices cured beef
  • 3-4 tbsp fig jam
  • 1 beaten egg
  • fresh thyme optional garnish

Method
 

  1. Heat oven to 400 and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place puff pastry on sheet pan and add three slices of cured beef in the middle.
  3. Place brie in the middle of the cured beef and score the top with cross hatch marks.
  4. Add fig jam on top of your brie.
  5. Wrap brie in the cured beef and add an extra slice on top of the fig jam.
  6. Wrap like a cheese present in the puff pastry (cut off extra pastry if needed).
  7. Add egg wash to the outside of the puff pastry.
  8. Cut a few shallow slits on top of the puff pastry.
  9. Place in the oven for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Serve with crackers or a baguette and enjoy warm!

Notes

For a sweeter flavor, drizzle honey over the brie before wrapping it in puff pastry.
