  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 1 24-ounce jar marinara sauce
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain well.
  3. In a large bowl, combine marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, basil, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Add the cooked spaghetti to the sauce mixture and toss to coat.
  5. Pour the spaghetti mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the spaghetti is heated through.
  8. Let stand for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use a high-quality marinara sauce and whole milk ricotta cheese.
