Ingredients
  

Butter
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
Add-ins
  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup chopped dark chocolate chunks
  • Optional ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans optional
  • Optional flaky sea salt for topping optional

Method
 

  1. Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy, about 3–4 minutes.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  3. Whisk dry ingredients and gradually mix into wet ingredients.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips, chunks, and nuts if using.
  5. Scoop dough, chill for 15–30 minutes, then bake at 375°F (190°C) for 12–14 minutes. Sprinkle with sea salt if desired.

Notes

Chilling the dough enhances flavor and texture.
