Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

- Cream butter with sugars, then add vanilla and eggs, mixing well.
- Combine dry and wet ingredients; fold in chocolate chips and nuts if desired.
- Scoop dough onto sheets, bake 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.

Notes
For softer cookies, slightly underbake; for crunchier, bake a bit longer.
