Ingredients
  

Meat
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade)
  • 0.5 cup water
Tortillas
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
Toppings
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mexican blend)
Additional toppings
  • sour cream and salsa for serving

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Sauté diced onion and minced garlic until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add ground beef, cook until browned, then stir in taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Warm tortillas separately until soft.
  5. Assemble tacos with beef, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and toppings. Serve with sour cream and salsa.

Notes

For a homemade seasoning, mix chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, and oregano.
