Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional) optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl; set aside.
  3. Cream butter and sugars, then add eggs and vanilla.
  4. Combine dry ingredients with wet, then fold in chocolates and walnuts.
  5. Drop dough onto baking sheet and bake 14-16 minutes.
  6. Cool cookies on rack before serving.

Notes

For softer cookies, slightly underbake and let cool on the baking sheet.
