Cheeseburger Pockets

Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 preferred
  • 0.5 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard yellow or Dijon
  • 1 to 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Dough & Egg Wash
  • 1 can crescent roll dough or pizza/biscuit dough
  • 1 egg beaten, for egg wash

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until beef is no longer pink and onions are soft. Drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in ketchup and mustard. Remove from heat and mix in shredded cheese.
  4. Roll out dough and cut into 8 rectangles or rounds.
  5. Spoon 2 tablespoons of filling onto each piece. Fold and seal edges with a fork.
  6. Place on baking sheet, brush with beaten egg.
  7. Bake 15–18 minutes or until golden brown. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the beef mixture!
