Ingredients

Smoked Sausage
  • 1 pound smoked sausage (halal-certified, no pork) Often turkey or beef sausage.
Baby Potatoes
  • 4 cups baby potatoes, halved or quartered More tender and easy to handle.
Seasonings
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (halal-certified) Adds tangy, herby flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
Cheese
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or a mix of your favorite cheeses) Creates rich, creamy texture.
Optional Garnish
  • 0.5 cup sour cream (optional, for serving)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish) Adds a pop of color.

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Wash and cut baby potatoes into halves or quarters. Slice smoked sausage into 1/4-inch thick rounds.
  2. Mix ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper in a bowl. Toss potatoes with olive oil and half the seasoning mix until evenly coated.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread seasoned potatoes in a single layer, then scatter smoked sausage pieces over them.
  4. Roastr in the oven for 35-40 minutes, stirring halfway, until potatoes are golden and tender.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the potatoes and sausage. Return to oven for 5 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot with a dollop of sour cream if desired.

Notes

For a spicy twist, add diced jalapeños or red pepper flakes to the seasoning mix.
