Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Layer sliced potatoes, carrots, and parsnips in the dish.
- Mix heavy cream, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper; pour over vegetables.
- Sprinkle cheese on top, cover with foil, and bake 30 minutes.
- Remove foil, bake 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden. Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or paprika on top before baking.
