Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Spread cherry pie filling evenly in the dish.
  3. Sprinkle cake mix over the filling, then drizzle melted butter on top.
  4. Add nuts if using, then bake for 40–45 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  5. Let cool slightly before serving warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
