Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment.
  2. Mix flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. Cream butter, sugars, and vanilla until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
  4. Gradually mix in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and salt.
  5. Drop dough onto baking sheet; bake 10-12 minutes. Cool before serving.

Notes

For extra chewy cookies, slightly underbake and let sit for a few minutes before transferring.
