Method
- Whisk together chickpea flour, water, turmeric, cumin, and salt until smooth.
- Add onion, tomato, chili (if using), and cilantro to the batter and mix well.
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat.
- Pour batter onto the hot pan and spread evenly.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side, until golden brown.
- Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until golden brown.
- Serve hot.
Notes
For a richer flavor, add a pinch of asafoetida (hing) to the batter.
