Chinese Beef and Broccoli (牛肉炒西兰花)

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb boneless flank steak sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 head broccoli cut to bite-size florets
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 teaspoons ginger minced

Method
 

  1. Slice beef into thin strips and marinate in soy sauce, peanut oil, and cornstarch for 10 minutes.
  2. Steam broccoli until tender, then set aside.
  3. Cook beef in a hot pan until browned, then set aside.
  4. Add garlic and ginger, then return broccoli and beef to the pan.
  5. Stir in sauce and cook until thickened. Serve immediately.

Notes

Ensure the pan is hot before cooking the beef to achieve a good sear.
