Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a small bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, beat together butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Let dough rest for 30 minutes before baking for a better flavor.
