Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Whisk flour and baking soda; set aside.
  2. Cream butter, sugars, and salt until smooth. Add vanilla and eggs, one at a time.
  3. Gradually mix in flour mixture. Fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Drop dough onto baking sheets, 2 inches apart. Bake 9-11 minutes until golden.

Notes

For softer cookies, bake for 9 minutes; for crunchier, bake a bit longer.
