  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup raisins (optional)

Method
 

  1. Combine cranberries, apples, sugar, onion, and vinegar in a saucepan.
  2. Add spices and salt, then bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes until thickened and cranberries burst.
  4. Stir in raisins if using, cook for 5 more minutes.
  5. Cool slightly, transfer to a jar, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

This chutney can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, making it perfect for holiday gatherings.
