Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13 inch dish with butter.
- Mix heavy cream, milk, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Layer half of potatoes, pour half of cream mixture, and sprinkle half of cheese. Repeat layers.
- Cover with foil and bake 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake 15-20 minutes until golden.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
Notes
For a richer flavor, use aged Gruyère cheese.
