- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
- Combine melted butter and mashed bananas in a large mixing bowl and stir until smooth.
- Add sugar, beaten egg, vanilla extract, baking soda, and salt; mix until well incorporated.
- Gradually add flour, stirring just until combined. Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips if using.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 55-60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
For best results, use very ripe bananas for maximum sweetness and moisture.
