Ingredients
  

Dry ingredients
  • 1.5 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
Wet ingredients
  • 3 ripe bananas mashed bananas mashed until smooth
  • 0.75 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 0.25 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 large eggs eggs
Optional add-ins
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix mashed bananas, honey, applesauce, and eggs until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if using.
  5. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and bake for 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow to cool before slicing. Enjoy!

Notes

For extra moisture, add a splash of milk or yogurt to the batter.
