Easy Sweet Potato Casserole Using Canned Yams

Ingredients
  

Yams
  • 2 cans canned yams 15 oz each, drained
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup mini marshmallows optional
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mash drained yams in a bowl, then mix in brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Spread mixture in a greased 9x13 inch dish.
  4. If desired, sprinkle marshmallows and pecans on top.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes until heated through and toppings are golden.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

You can omit the marshmallows and pecans for a healthier version.
