Method
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Brown ground beef in a skillet. Drain excess grease.
- Add onion and garlic; cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
- Combine ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, and egg in a bowl. Mix well.
- Combine cooked spaghetti and meat sauce in a large bowl. Mix well.
- Pour half of the spaghetti mixture into a baking dish.
- Spread ricotta cheese mixture evenly over the spaghetti.
- Top with remaining spaghetti mixture.
- Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use a combination of ground beef and Italian sausage.
