Ingredients
  

Green Beans
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • salt to taste salt
  • black pepper to taste black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Method
 

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil, add green beans, and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  2. Drain and transfer green beans to ice water to stop cooking.
  3. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat, add garlic, and sauté for 1 minute.
  4. Add green beans to the skillet, toss to coat, and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Drizzle with lemon juice if desired, toss, and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a squeeze of lemon just before serving.
