Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Brown beef with onion and mushrooms until cooked, about 8–10 minutes.
- Stir in garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; cook 1 minute.
- If ovenproof, sprinkle rice over beef mixture; else transfer to a casserole dish and spread rice on top.
- Heat broth with butter and vinegar; pour over rice and beef. Cover tightly with foil.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, then let sit covered for 10 minutes. Remove foil, top with cheese, and bake 5–7 minutes until melted.
Notes
Use a ovenproof skillet if available for easier cooking.
