  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
Pasta
  • 8 oz Pasta (penne, rotini, or shells)
  • 1 can Canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup Beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 8 oz Ziti pasta
  • 1 cup Marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup Ricotta or cottage cheese
  • 1 cup Mozzarella, Parmesan shredded
Vegetables
  • 1 bell pepper Bell peppers (any color) chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Chili flakes or cayenne
Optional ingredients
  • to taste Grated cheese or fresh basil
  • 1/2 cup Sour cream or cream cheese
  • 1 cup Mushrooms sliced
Additional pasta options
  • to taste Elbow pasta or shells
  • 1 cup Salsa or diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup Shredded cheddar
Optional toppings

Method
 

  1. Brown beef with onion and garlic in a skillet.
  2. Add uncooked pasta, tomatoes, broth, and seasonings; simmer until tender.
