Ingredients

  • 6 ounces egg noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Method

  1. Cook the egg noodles in a pot of boiling water according to package directions until tender. Drain and set aside.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat for about 6-8 minutes until fully cooked, then drain excess fat.
  3. Melt butter in the same skillet and whisk in flour for about 2 minutes to create a roux. Gradually add beef broth while whisking to prevent lumps. Cook until thickened (3-4 minutes). Slowly stir in milk.
  4. Add seasonings to the sauce and mix well. Reduce heat to low and combine cooked noodles and browned beef into the sauce.
  5. Fold in sour cream until well incorporated and serve hot.

Notes

For a healthier option, consider using lean ground beef and low-sodium beef broth.
