Method
- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease and flour an 8x8 inch baking pan.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Gradually stir in flour until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Optional: Stir in chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Let cool completely in the pan before cutting.
- Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out brownies.
- Optional: Decorate with sprinkles.
Notes
For extra fudgy brownies, slightly underbake them. Be careful not to burn the butter when melting.
