Ingredients
  

Meat
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 cups cubed bread
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cook sausage until browned; drain.
  2. Whisk eggs, milk, salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  3. Layer bread, sausage, bell pepper, and onion in a greased dish. Pour egg mixture over.
  4. Sprinkle cheese on top, cover, and bake 30 mins. Remove foil and bake 15-20 mins until set and golden.
  5. Cool briefly, then slice and serve.

Notes

For extra flavor, add chopped herbs or hot sauce.
