Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 7 tbsp butter (salted or unsalted, softened)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1/4 tsp red food coloring gel
  • 1 cup AP flour
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup red sanding sugar
  • 18 pieces Hershey chocolate kisses

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F, line baking sheet with parchment.
  2. Cream butter, sugars, add egg yolk, vanilla, and red food coloring.
  3. Mix in flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt; scoop dough, roll in sugar.
  4. Place on baking sheet, bake 10 mins, add chocolate kisses, cool 10 mins.

Notes

Ensure not to overbake for soft centers.
