  • 1 pound beef tenderloin
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 1/2 cup sliced green onions
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Cut the beef tenderloin into bite-sized cubes.
  3. Add the cubed beef to the hot skillet in a single layer.
  4. Cook beef for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned.
  5. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
  6. Add sesame oil to the skillet.
  7. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  8. Pour in honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  9. Stir until the mixture simmers and honey dissolves, about 2 minutes.
  10. Return the cooked beef to the skillet, coating with sauce.
  11. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 3-4 minutes to thicken sauce.
  12. Prepare cooked white rice and place in bowls.
  13. Spoon beef over rice in each bowl.
  14. Sprinkle green onions and sesame seeds over each bowl.
  15. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

For a spicier dish, add more red pepper flakes to the sauce.
