Method
- Slice zucchini, salt, and let sit to draw out moisture. Pat dry.
- Heat olive oil, sauté onion and garlic until softened.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Stir in tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5–7 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
- Layer zucchini, beef mixture, and repeat.
- Sprinkle cheese over the top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the beef mixture.
