Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Bananas and Sour Cream
  • 3 ripe bananas mashed bananas about 1 ½ cups
  • ½ cup sour cream or plain yogurt
Optional Nuts
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9-inch round pan.
  2. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs and vanilla.
  3. Stir in mashed bananas and sour cream. Gently fold in nuts if using.
  4. Pour batter into pan and bake for 50-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg to the dry ingredients.
