Ingredients
  

Cranberries
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • for dusting Powdered sugar (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch dish.
  2. Combine cranberries with 1/4 cup sugar; set aside.
  3. Cream butter, brown sugar, and remaining sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla; mix well.
  5. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; add to wet mixture.
  6. Fold in cranberries and nuts, spread in dish, bake 30-35 mins.

Notes

Allow bars to cool before cutting and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
