Ingredients
  

Meat and Vegetables
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup uncooked orzo pasta
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes (canned or fresh)
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • optional Chopped pickles and fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

  1. Brown the ground beef and diced onion in a skillet until cooked and translucent.
  2. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in orzo, beef broth, tomatoes, ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10-12 minutes until orzo is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  4. Remove from heat, stir in cheddar cheese until melted, then season with salt and pepper. Garnish with pickles and parsley if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a dash of hot sauce or serve with a side salad.
