Ingredients
  

Meat
  • 2 pieces ribeye steaks about 1 inch thick
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • optional fresh thyme or rosemary sprigs
  • optional lemon wedges for serving

Method
 

  1. Let steaks sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  2. Pat steaks dry, season with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat oil in skillet over medium-high heat, sear steaks 4-5 minutes per side.
  4. Add butter and garlic, spoon over steaks as butter melts.
  5. Cook 3-5 minutes for desired doneness, add herbs if using.
  6. Rest steaks 5 minutes, serve with lemon wedges.
