Ingredients
  

Dry ingredients
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
Wet ingredients
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.
  3. Whisk sugar, brown sugar, and oil; add eggs and pumpkin, mix well.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients; fold in nuts and chocolate chips if desired.
  5. Pour into greased loaf pan and bake for 60-70 minutes.
  6. Cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract.
