Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin spice
Cream Cheese Filling
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk for egg wash
Decoration
  • Sesame seeds for decoration

Method
 

  1. Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast; let sit until frothy.
  2. Mix flour and salt; add yeast mixture, butter, egg, pumpkin, and spice; knead into a smooth dough.
  3. Let dough rise for 1 hour; prepare cream cheese filling by mixing cheese, sugar, and vanilla.
  4. Divide dough into 12 balls, fill with cream cheese, shape into pumpkins, and place on baking sheet.
  5. Make indentations, brush with egg yolk, sprinkle sesame seeds, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes.
