Ingredients

Meat
  • 1 lb ground beef
Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Pasta
  • 8 ounces pasta (penne or spaghetti)
Garnish
  • Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish

Method

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart as it browns. Cook for 5–7 minutes until fully browned.
  2. Stir in the garlic and onion, cooking another 2 minutes until soft and fragrant.
  3. Add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix to combine.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and let it simmer for about 5 minutes to reduce slightly.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, combining until the sauce thickens—about 3–4 minutes.
  6. Add the uncooked pasta to the pot. Make sure the pasta is mostly covered by the sauce. Add a splash of water or broth if needed. Cover and cook according to package directions (usually 8–10 minutes), stirring occasionally.
  7. Once pasta is tender and sauce is creamy, remove from heat.
  8. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
