  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 recommended for best flavor
  • 1 tsp salt for the full pound of beef
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper for the full pound of beef
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder for the full pound of beef
  • 4 large flour tortillas burrito-size
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or American cheese, about 1/4 cup per quesadilla
  • optional toppings pickles, diced onions, burger sauce, ketchup, mustard

Method
 

  1. Heat skillet over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Press 4 oz ground beef onto half of tortilla, leaving a border. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Place tortilla beef-side down in skillet. Press firmly with spatula for 10-15 seconds. Cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes until crispy.
  4. Flip tortilla, sprinkle with 1/4 cup cheese, and fold in half. Press gently with spatula.
  5. Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from heat, let rest for 30 seconds, and slice into wedges. Repeat.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding a thin layer of your favorite burger sauce before adding the cheese.
