Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 1 can strawberry pie filling 21 oz can
  • 1 package cream cheese 8 oz, softened
Cake Topping
  • 1 package yellow cake mix 15.25 oz
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries sliced, optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar for dusting powdered sugar optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread strawberry filling in a greased 9x13 inch dish.
  2. Mix softened cream cheese with vanilla until smooth, then dollop over the filling.
  3. Sprinkle cake mix evenly over the cream cheese layer, then drizzle melted butter on top.
  4. Add sliced strawberries on top if desired, then bake for 40-45 minutes until golden.
  5. Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
