Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 1.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1.5 tsp Baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 0.5 cup Whole milk
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared cake pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra touch, dust with powdered sugar or frost with your favorite buttercream once completely cooled.
