Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
- Add egg and vanilla, then mix until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. Gradually add to wet ingredients.
- Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts (if using).
- Drop spoonfuls onto baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
For softer cookies, slightly underbake and let sit on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring.
