Ingredients
  

Butter
  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
Sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
Eggs
  • 1 egg egg
Vanilla
  • 2 tepoons vanilla
Flour
  • 2 1/8 cups all-purpose flour (scoop and level)
Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Chocolate Chips
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Beat softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy. Add egg and vanilla, mix well.
  3. Add flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; beat on low until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Use a 2 tbsp cookie scoop to place dough on baking sheet. Top with extra chocolate chips if desired.
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden. Cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a rack.

Notes

For thicker cookies, stack dough balls high before baking.
